Shirlee Cutler / FDL Softball Hall of Fame Memorial Scholarship

The Shirlee Cutler family in conjunction with the FDL Softball Hall of Fame annually offers a $1,000 scholarship to a female letter winner in a Varsity Softball program. Shirlee Cutler was a pioneer for the women’s softball leagues in FDL with the inception of the women’s leagues in 1963. In Fond du Lac, Shirlee was in the first group of organized women players, one of the first women managers, and the first manager to win a state championship and an invite to a National tournament in 1968. For these reasons, it was only appropriate that her husband, Dale and his family decided to form the Shirlee Cutler Memorial Scholarship.

The Shirlee Cutler Memorial Scholarship is available for educational purposes to any female student who is a senior at FDL High School, St. Mary’s Springs Academy, or WLA, has lettered in their Varsity Softball program and lives in the FDL School District. Additional guidelines are the student must be furthering their education at an accredited college, university or technical college, have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and they must provide a personal statement including extracurricular and volunteer activities. Applications and additional information can be obtained from your schools office or from the website at www.fdlrecdept.com.
